Instruction

Under the NYS Graduated Driver License Law (GDL), permitted drivers under the age of 18 must complete at least 50 hours of practice driving, with at least 15 hours of night driving with a parent, guardian, or driving instructor.

The supervising driver must be over the age of 21.Typically a new driver needs 12-15 hours of professional instruction and another 35-38 hours of supervised driving.
